       The AAD Literacy Program

Purpose: The AAD Literacy Program promotes and increases literacy among youth, particularly those reading two to three years below grade level. The ultimate goal is empowering students to become avid readers, positively impacting their overall academic performance.

Literacy Program - Saturday Sessions at a local college

Purpose: To provide a different environment of learning, access to various learning tools and tutors to assist students with reading, computers and special school projects.

Location: Robert Morris College
    - Youth participants: Daniel Webster students (4th – 8th grade)
    - Volunteer tutors: Top high school students (King College Prep H.S.)   
    - Various mentor volunteer tutors from other colleges and universities


AAD Health Program

Purpose: The AAD Health Program promotes good nutrition and physical activity for the youth.  The primary goal is empowering students to become more health conscious and healthier.

To achieve the desired results, the program will focus on 3 phases:
       - Phase I – Nutrition
       - Phase II – Self Respect (health)
       - Phase III – Regular Physical Activity

Reginald Jones, Former NFL and staff will help coordinate the program.


The AAD Health & Lifestyle Book

Purpose: The book is designed to help youth make wise choices in the key areas of health, nutrition, fitness, friends, handling peer pressure, avoiding drugs, and making healthy life decisions.

AAD Mentor Program

The objective is to design corporate-driven projects to enhance the students’ personal
skills in reading, writing, math, communication and teamwork.  Corporate mentors will visit the school and create projects for the students to explore real world scenarios.  Some of our corporate mentors who created projects include: The President of Damron Corporation, Vice President of MetLife, Managing Director from Wayne Hummer Trust Co., Account Manager from New Balance and a Assistant Vice President /Branch Manager of Harris Trust and Savings Bank and Citibank.


AAD Junior Leadership Program

This area allows corporate mentors to teach youth leadership skills onsite at their business location.  Several trips will be scheduled to the corporate mentor office where the leadership training program will provide exposure to different job positions, careers, money management training and organizational skills. Proper dress attire will be required of the students.
     


AAD Mentor Program

The purpose of the Mentor Program is to connect youth with real world environment duties and provide them with a forum to explore issues such as goal setting, higher education and career options. Presenters will coordinate a career project for students to emulate. AAD hope the students will be motivated to learn developmental skills that will prepare them for their futures.
     • Three Mentor Visits/per month/one hour sessions


Corporate Visits

Field Trips once a month to various corporations which will provide on site training, exposure to different careers and opportunities that are available.
